Dr. Al Khalafalla
Dr. Khalafalla is a public policy Specialist and an expert on higher education. He has a proven record of leadership and international accomplishments. Prior to joining HDI, he held numerous leadership and board positions including President of American Global Institute (AGI), President of the board of directors of the Virginia Institute of Peace and IBN Cultural Center, and Vice Chair of a More Perfect U.
Dr. Khalafalla has been recognized not only as a leader in education, public policy and cross-cultural dialogue, but also as an advocate for international peace. He received a prestigious Humanitarian Award from the Governor of Virginia in 2009 for his international humanitarian endeavors. Dr. Khalafalla’s humanitarian and interfaith initiatives have been recognized by the University of Louisiana, the Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Bahrain, and the University of Richmond. On October 22nd, 2012, Dr. Khalafalla was honored by the U.S. Congress for organizing a successful Congressional Delegations to the Middle East which increased dialogue and engagement in this strategically important region.
He regularly appears in the media and has delivered keynote addresses before Bahrain International Symposium, the International Law and Religion Symposium, and diverse audiences across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Dr. Khalafalla’s opinion pieces have been published in the Daily Caller, Washington Times, Fox News, the Tribune, and Alayam, among others. He is also frequently called on to comment on Africa and the Middle East on broadcast media, including Alhurra, NBC, and Al-Jazeera.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Louisiana, an MBA from University of Maryland System, and a PhD in Public Policy and Administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Dr. Khalafalla is author or co-author of a number of studies and articles on immigration, the Middle East, international relations, interfaith dialogue and religious tolerance. He is married and has two children.
Dr. Kelly Aliasgar
Director of SSM in Bahrain
Dr. Aliasgar earned her PhD from Southern Cross University, Australia in 2012 and her BSc from University of London. She has worked in universities in Trinidad and Tobago, Australia and Iraq. Dr. Aliasgar lead the team for the development of the GIFTS Research Center at the University of Kurdistan, Iraq. She was also part of the management team for the Research Centers GREAT at Southern Cross University, Australia and University of the West Indies (CLEAR). In addition to her roles in lecturing, Dr. Aliasgar sat on many committees and working groups at the University of Kurdistan. She has worked on consultancy projects based in Trinidad and Tobago, Australia, Iraq and Indonesia. She is published in international journals, conferences and a chapter in a book. Dr. Aliasgar is currently the Executive Director at American Global Consulting, and the Director of the Swiss School of Management in Bahrain.
Director of Global Education
After almost 10 years of teaching experience in various curricula in Bahrain and India, Huma became an expert in education, which she is passionate about. She has a bachelor degree in Education and a Masters in English and World History.
She also designed and managed higher education, from coordinating higher secondary school examinations to be a trainer in soft skills and communications. With this kind of exposure, she has positioned herself as an expert in her field.
Mr. Dickson is a Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder. He currently practices as a CPA and investment advisor. He is the Managing Director of Tyndale Investments LLC.
For 19 years he managed corporate finance in the U.S. for TAG Group (Holdings) S.A. a diversified international company based in Geneva, Switzerland. As chief U.S. financial officer, Mr. Dickson directed significant asset liquidation and acquisition transactions.
Mr. Dickson served for three years as the finance director of TAG Aviation’s (a TAG Group affiliate) development of the Farnborough Airfield near London. He was also the chief financial officer of a large soybean farming operation in Paraguay for five years. He began his accounting career at M.B. Hariton& Co. He was there for four years before moving to Ernst & Young’s tax practice.
Mr. Dickson is a member of the boards of the American Global Institute and the District of Columbia Forensic Nurse Examiners. He is on the National Presidential Advisory Board of Utah Valley University and the Alumni Board of Brigham Young University.
Mr. Dickson holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Greater Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants, the CFA Institute, and the CFA Institute of Washington, DC.
Educational Services Director
Mr. Farhan Hassan is currently the Educational Services Director at American Global Consulting. He grew up in Saudi Arabia, and graduated from Multimedia University, Malaysia in 2010. After graduation he started his professional career as Academic Consultant where he worked closely with many schools and universities in USA, UK, Canada, Australia, and Malaysia. He has extensive experience in advising and assisting students with college planning and admission.
