The American Global Consulting group (AGC) has ongoing public policy programs with the American Global Institute and the Humpty Dumpty Institute in the areas of organizing international and United Nations conferences and preparing visits to the Gulf Region by American Congressional/cultural and business delegation groups. The American Global Consulting group and the Washington-based American Global Institute have a long history with both the United Nations and US Congress. We have a great deal of experience in organizing UN Lectures, UN Orientation Sessions, UN Conferences, UN Boot Camp and Model UN program. In partnership with American Global Institute, we continue to build bridges between the Arabian Gulf and the world.
Within the context of globalization, American Global Consulting (AGC) is proud to offer a special and unique program to Universities in the Arabian Gulf. The United Nations Academic Program develops the next generation of global leaders by connecting universities in the Gulf directly with the United Nations. This special program provides a comprehensive range of services and opportunities to students who are seeking a hands-on experience working with the international organization and in global affairs.
Through its exceptionally close relationship with the United Nations, American Global Consulting organizes trips by senior ranking UN officials, UN Ambassadors, policymakers and leading experts in world affairs to universities in the Gulf to give major lectures on a wide variety of international topics. AGC will also bring students from the Gulf directly to UN Headquarters in New York for intensive three-day orientation sessions, seminars and conferences to engage, experience and explore the UN, and the wide range of global issues on its agenda. And finally, participating students will have the opportunity to participate in AGC’s Summer Boot Camp at the United Nations in New York and in Washington, DC.
Membership in these educational programs is open to all institutions of higher learning in the Arabian Gulf. The United Nations Lecture Series will provide institutions with an in-depth introduction to the UN system and provide required information to foster and instill global awareness on campus.
UN Lectures: For each University that belongs to its network, AGC arranges two major lectures per academic year by a senior UN official for each member school on a topic of their choosing. Sample topics include but are not limited to conflict resolution, peacekeeping and peace building, climate change, women’s empowerment, sustainable development, and other international issues.
UN Orientation Sessions: AGC organizes special three-day programs at United Nations Headquarters in New York City for students of Universities in the Gulf. This program begins with a one-day orientation session, followed by a customized, intensive two-day fact-finding mission to gain first-hand knowledge of how multilateral diplomacy is crafted and implemented. Universities are limited to sending 20 students and 4 faculty members
UN Conferences: AGC will work with faculty members to organize one- and two-day conferences on campus on a special United Nations theme with relevant experts coming from different parts of the globe to address the university and its students.
United Nations Boot Camp: The UN Boot Camp is a week-long immersion study program that gives graduate and advanced undergraduate students the opportunity to explore, examine and experience the inner workings of world’s premier global governance body—the United Nations. Students affiliated with HEA members enjoy discounted tuition and may enroll for course credit if offered by their institution.
Model United Nations: American Global Consulting works with many Model UN organizations and will work with individual universities to establish and create Model UN clubs at campuses around the Gulf region. This includes special training for faculty advisers and instructors.
